Yes it’s perfectly safe to buy a used SSD drive, particularly a used Enterprise drive, but you must check the current percentage (%) life remaining and the manufacturer’s predicted TBW (Terabytes Written). Unlike HDDs, SSDs are not about how many years old they are, you can if you really want, just as easily ruin/exhaust an SSD in 1 year as you can 10 if you constantly and consistently ran a program to purposely do so and just keep writing data to it.

SSDs store data in ‘memory’ or ‘transistors’ and they can only be used so many times; this is such a problem that the firmware on the SSD controller actually aims to utilise blocks of transistors evenly (unlike a HDD which would just use the outer edge over and over and over - like old Records you’d always start on the edge).
